Art for all
A state-recognized art museum, which is one of the few art museums where you can experience a close connection between the images of art and the characterful landscape outside of the museum building.
Landscape art inspired by the high sky, the wide view with fields, low windswept windbreaks and somewhere on the horizon the ever-present North Sea.
In addition to paintings by, among others, Svend Engelund, Johannes Hofmeister, Poul Winther, Poul Anker Bech and others. The museum's collections include sculpture, graphics and handicrafts. Erland Knudssøn Madsen and Kurt Tegtmeier stand out strongly among the sculptors Vendsyssel Art Museum collect.
There is also a wide range of activities for children and youngsters, and in the museum's creative workshop on the 1st floor, workshops are held regularly, and there are crayons, markers and paper for free use.
In the footsteps of art
The landscape has always inspired artists. Nature, weather and light form an inexhaustible circle of motifs. 'In the footsteps of art' gives you the opportunity to experience Vendsyssel - both through the painters' motifs and on your own.
Lace up your hiking boots, grab your windbreaker and get out into nature. Discover where the artists got their inspiration. Study the lines, colors and light of the landscape yourself, and let yourself be enveloped by the nature experience.
'In the footsteps of art' has been developed by Vendsyssel Art Museum in collaboration with Kunstbygningen i Vrå - Engelundsamlingen and consists of eight art tracks: Poul Anker Bech-, Poul Ekelund, Svend Engelund-, Arne L. Hansen- and Johannes Hofmeister-track and a Church -, a Sculpture and an Art Detective track for the whole family.
Each track includes a leaflet with a map of the track's route and information about the individual artists, their works and the different locations. & Nbsp;
The tracks can be followed independently and you can jump on and off the routes where you want. On the tracks you will meet signs with supplementary information, just as you can listen to audio stories along the way, where the artists' relationship to nature is brought to life.
