A state-recognized art museum, which is one of the few art museums where you can experience a close connection between the images of art and the characterful landscape outside of the museum building.
Landscape art inspired by the high sky, the wide view with fields, low windswept windbreaks and somewhere on the horizon the ever-present North Sea.
In addition to paintings by, among others, Svend Engelund, Johannes Hofmeister, Poul Winther, Poul Anker Bech and others. The museum's collections include sculpture, graphics and handicrafts. Erland Knudssøn Madsen and Kurt Tegtmeier stand out strongly among the sculptors Vendsyssel Art Museum collect.
There is also a wide range of activities for children and youngsters, and in the museum's creative workshop on the 1st floor, workshops are held regularly, and there are crayons, markers and paper for free use.
